TERRE HAUTE REGIONAL AIRPORT ADDS TWO TO BOARD
Rick Burger and Bernice Helman are Community Servants
Terre Haute, Indiana
Terre Haute Regional Airport recently added two new members to its Board of Directors, Bernice J. Helman and Richard “Rick” Burger. The former is a vice president and broker for Coldwell Banker Troy Helman REALTORS and the latter, a District Manager for Duke Energy.
In addition to her professional history in the mortgage industry and as a realtor, Bernice Helman has long been a servant-leader in the Wabash Valley. She has served United Way of Wabash Valley as Board President, Greater Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce as a Board Member, Harsha Behavioral Center and Hospital Board of Directors, Sheldon Swope Art Museum Board of Directors and St. Mary of the Woods College Community Advisory Council.
Bernice is also the recipient of several community service awards including Wabash Valley Woman of Influence (2015) and the Athena Leadership Award (2016). She studied at Ohio Valley University and David Lipscomb University. Affiliations include National Association of Realtors, Indiana Association of Realtors, Terre Haute Area Association of Realtors, Indiana Mortgage Bankers Association and the Greater Terre Haute Home Builders Association.
Rick Burger has served Duke Energy for 40 years. During his career, he has served in various leadership roles in Greencastle, Rochester, Vincennes, Lafayette and Terre Haute. Since transferring to Terre Haute in 2002, Rick has been an active member of the community, serving as Past Chairman of the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce Board, Past Chairman of the Terre Haute Economic Development Corporation, Wabash Valley Junior Achievement Board, President of Workforce Investment Board, Trees Inc. Board, Vigo County School Corporation Superintendent Cabinet and Past President of the United Way of the Wabash Valley Board of Directors.
Rick’s other associations and appointments include Terre Haute Children’s Museum, Eli Lilly Community Advisory, Terre Haute Humane Society, Union Hospital Foundation, and Vigo County Council. Rick is a native of Brazil, Indiana. He and his wife Karen raised four children and are proud grandparents of five.
