Indiana State University’s Department of Aviation Technology not only maintains ISU Flight Academy at HUF, they also offer the state’s only Unmanned Systems degree program. The flight academy features a modern, updated facility and a fleet of aircraft featuring navigational equipment and other technology that students encounter as pilots working in the aviation industry. And ISU’s cutting-edge Unmanned Systems program offers minors and majors in support of a growing need in the fields of homeland security, civil authorities and commercial enterprises.

Indiana State University also has pipeline agreements with Republic Airways, ExpressJet, and Trans States Airlines. With these pipeline agreements, the airlines follow a student’s progression through the pilot training program and create a structured path during school so that they can be highly prepared for their future careers with these airlines and others. Upon graduation, many students involved in these pipeline agreements are offered a position with the respective company.
In 2018, the program and HUF will host more than 350 student-pilots at the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) SAFECON event. (2017 coverage)
